Why we built this
Most food gets planned backwards. We open a recipe site or an app, pick something that looks good, then go shopping — often for things that are already sitting in the cupboard, going unused, or quietly going off in the back of the fridge. The average household throws away a meaningful share of the food it buys, not because anyone's careless, but because nothing in the process starts from what's actually there.
Pantry Pal starts from the other end. Tell it what's in your kitchen — by typing it in or scanning it with your camera — and it builds meal suggestions, a shopping list, and a weekly plan around that, instead of around an idealised recipe that assumes an empty kitchen. Less waste, less last-minute "what's for dinner," and a shopping list that only has what you actually need.
It's built for real households too, not just one person's account: everyone you live with can see the same pantry, the same plan, and the same shopping list, with sensible roles so kids or guests can be included without handing over full control.
We're a small team building this because we wanted it to exist. If you've got feedback, a feature you're missing, or just want to say hello, the contact page reaches us directly.
